How much do architectural services cost?

My fixed services, Design Counseling and Feng Shui Reviews, cost a flat fee of only $195 for up to 90 minutes of personalized service.

Architecture is a "fee for service" profession, where cost is directly related to how much time is required for a particular project. Projects of similar size and scale will have different fees according to how many services the clients need and even in what municipality the project is located.

The investment you make today in architectural services will save you thousands of dollars more in the cost of construction. The pay off continues with shorter approval times, fewer change orders during construction, and an improved and enhanced quality of life after completion.

A good rule of thumb [published by Dwell magazine] for a remodeling project is that the architectural services, including structural engineering if they're required, will fall between 10% and 25% of the construction cost, regardless of who the architect is. If the project is a new building, the architectural services will fall between 5% and 15% of the construction cost. These estimates are based on the architect providing full services. The amount will be less if you take a hands-on approach and limit the architect's scope of services.

Knowing that we can determine what services you will need. After I have all this information, I prepare a written proposal.
